GET INVOLVED

Three different kinds of volunteers will be needed daily when the museum opens in 2009:

* Docents – Volunteers will lead student and adult tours through the Museum. A 20-session training program will begin in September to prepare Docents before the museum opens.

The museum is no longer accepting applications to be part of the Docent program upon the Museum's opening.

***************************************************************************

Due to the overwhelming response from the community, the deadline for volunteer application submission will be September 15, 2008.

We will continue to accept all volunteer requests and inform all interested community members when future training sessions will be held. In order to maintain the highest quality of service, training sessions are required before volunteers can work in the new museum.

Please do not hesitate to contact the Volunteer office with any questions at volunteer@hmfi.org. Thank you for your support and patience.

* Visitor Service Volunteers – Volunteers will work in public Museum positions – selling tickets, helping in the gift shop, at coat check, special events, the information and membership desks, etc. An 8 hour training program will be scheduled before the opening of the Museum.

Applications due by Friday, September 15, 2008.

* Administrative Volunteers – Volunteers will work in the various departments of the Museum. An 8 hour training program will be scheduled before the opening of the Museum.

Applications due by Friday, September 15, 2008.
