The Illinois Holocaust Museum and Education Center honors the names of Holocaust victims in the Book of Remembrance. Created by the relatives of survivors, this tome stands as a stark reminder of the staggering number of victims and sheer magnitude of the atrocities committed by the Nazis. For many, this is the only memorial that exists to their family members and loved ones.
The Book of Remembrance will be displayed as an artifact in the new museum and is no longer adding new names. New opportunities for recognizing victims of the Holocaust will be created in the new museum.
